My husband took these photos while he and my son racked the leaves at my moms house. They had a giant pile and my son jumped right in. It was such a beautiful day and the colors were awesome. I knew I had to document this moment and Hello Fall was the perfect collection!
I started with a white cardstock background and used all patterned papers from the Hello Fall collection by Simple Stories. Based on the sketch from the class, a large title would be best. So I grabbed the Hello Fall chipboard stickers and used the FALL letters. Then I used the alpha stickers from the Hello Fall 12X12 sticker sheet for the word HELLO. Quick and easy title!
(I have since fixed the wonky ‘L’ in hello.)
I pulled out all the leaves from the die cut pack, 12×12 sticker sheet and the chipboard stickers from Hello Fall. Using a combination of different versions of the same design helped keep my embellishments consistent while giving me some dimension for interest. I wanted to use the phrase sticker from the 12X12 sticker sheet that said, “Pile, Jump & Smile” because that’s basically what happened here. Then I cut up some tags from the Hello Fall patterned papers and added those to my embellishments. Then I just had to use this little fox because he’s just too cute!
After journalling and stamping the date on this little label (also from the die cut pack) I used the Oh Happy Life phrase stamp by Amy Tangerine to fill in the space. I thought it could use a little more so I dropped some Heidi Swapp color shine in Mustard and added some matching Sprinkles enamel dots by Doodlebug.
This layout was so easy because:
- I used a sketch. So I had no issues getting started.
- I used primarily all one line, Hello Fall. So it was so easy to coordinate embellishments and papers!
You don’t have to be a designer to make a great page! There’s no shame in following a sketch or scraplifting another great designer! I’m still very happy with this page that I created, even though I did not come up with the design and didn’t do a lot to bring these things together.
I hope this post helps you to document your best fall memories. If you’re like me and need a little help getting started, make sure to follow this link and learn more about the class I’ve been raving about this whole post. (Believe it or not, I am not affiliated with this class, I really just LOVED it!) 🙂
There’s still time to enter into the Hello Fall Giveaway I’m having. Winner will be drawn on October 30th, 2016! Visit my Facebook Page and scroll to the post about the giveaway for more information. Good Luck!
