Winter Wonderland Instax Album by Jen

Jen received a new Instax camera for Christmas! What an awesome Christmas gift right? So she decided to use it right away to document her memories this holiday season. She used this adorable little Heidi Swapp Instax album. I love how she decided not to just use this as a simple photo album, but to customize it with paper and embellishments!

She started her album with paper from the Heart Day 6×6 paper pad as her title page. Then used some thickers to document the year.

Here Jen shows a few highlights of her Christmas Eve celebrations. She’s captured their Christmas tree, some yummy food and even “Santa” with this adorable puppy! Here she used two different paper pads and trimmed them to fit into the Instax-size pockets (Winter Wonderland 6×6 paper pad and Dear Lizzy Saturday 6×6 paper pad). Then some Winter Wonderland enamel dots and wood veneers from Color Cast Designs to finish up the embellishments this spread. I love how she types up her journaling and then cuts into strips to create some interest.

This spread has some hidden journaling that Jen put behind a flip up card (and another adorable puppy!). This gave her a way to include a lot of journaling while still using the embellishments she wanted to create a fun look to her album. Paper and “a million tiny little things” also from the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection.

Jen used a tab to create more hidden journaling on this spread. She also included two photos taken on her iPhone 7, printed to fit in the album. These were two amazing photos that would have been hard to achieve with the Instax camera. Make sure to visit Jen’s blog post about this layout for a couple of tips she learned while using the Instax camera. This “Cheers” sticker gives this spread the perfect amount of embellishment to let you just really enjoy the photos.

Jen used more of the Winter Wonderland 6×6 paper pad to document a few holiday things around her house and also a story about dinner and a movie. She included a ticket stub from the movie and journaling to tell the story.

Jen finished up this album with New Years Eve and New Years Day. I LOVE how this little album turned out! It’s a great alternative to December Daily, if you’re looking for one. She documented the last part of the month which included the two holidays she celebrates with family and friends. In that short amount of time she was able to tell a lot about her story and of her life right now! Did you see that she included “starting the year off at Starbucks”? A girl after my own heart!

My favorite thing about these spreads is how Jen uses a date stamp on each Instax print. It reminds me of all the Polaroid prints a lot of us have that have the dates written in that space. It’s so great how Instax has revived the use of instant photo and all of the things we have available to use with it! Like this album Jen created!

I would recommend reading Jen’s blog post about this spread. She includes lots of good tips on using her Instax camera and also tells more about the stories she’s documenting here.
