Hey guys it’s Sandy Carter. Today I wanted to share a page I made with Amy Tangerine’s On a Whim collection. I am obsessed with the bright colors in this collection. It is filled with bold fun prints and it makes it easy to create a page. I used the page sketch as a starting point for this page.
When I scrapbook I don’t always have access to fancy tools. I usually have my paper trimmer, scissors, glue and the collection. In this page I did a lot of layering of the pattern cardstock as well as some solids I had in my stash. The sticker book comes with translucent stickers so I just backed it with white cardstock and trimmed around the sticker. I thought it would look great as a part of the title. I finished the title with a chipboard sticker from the phrases thicker pack. It comes with so many fun saying and it makes for an easy title. Ephemera is a great way to add some interest to your page. I layered up a few pieces and put them to the right of the title. I used the heart to journal a little about our day. I used a white pen to add accents and fake stitches. I have been sewing a lot lately so I just ran the final page through my machine to add a border.
When working with a sketch, you don’t have to follow it exactly. It is meant to be a starting point to spark a design. I started with the page sketch and made changes to it as I saw fit. I hope all of you get a chance to play with this collection. It is perfect for summer and all ages. It has a lot of nice blues in it as well for a more masculine layout.
